The Interior Designer II ensures design projects are delivered on time and properly support franchise specifications. The Interior Designer II provides general and training support to Junior Interior Designers and has more active involvement in understanding and delivering client specific design needs.
Key Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Designers will be working closely with Project Management team and other core service teams.
Space planning and designing within guidelines of specific Hotel Brand Standards.
Project managing design scope of work.
Design Submissions on behalf of clients to Hotel Brands for approval.
Sourcing materials. Creating both digital and physical sample boards.
Travel and overnight stays may be required.
Travel to US may be required. Designer to have valid passport.
Experience & Educational Requirements
Post Secondary Education (Diploma or Degree) in Interior Design
Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial or hospitality interior design
Sales or customer service experience is an asset
Skills & Competencies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Great organizational, planning and time management skills
Strong Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, and SketchUp
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, & Outlook)
Demonstrated working knowledge of regulatory building codes
Has experience in working with design criteria set by: Property Management, Franchisees, or ‘Brands’/’Flags
Strong Working knowledge of case good and other FF&E Products
Aptitude for teaching and ability to provide constructive feedback towards employee growth and development
Ability to identify and resolve conflicts effectively
Ability to identify and resolve client issues or concerns
Ability to work with a sense of urgency, prioritize work and meet critical objectives and deadlines
Ability to adapt to change and to work flexibly to overcome obstacles
Skills & Competencies (not required; but are assets)
Proficiency in 3D Stuido Max is an asset
Working Knowledge of Vray (either Sketch up or 3DS Max) is an asset
Presentations to audience size approx. 50 people or more
Exhibitor experience at tradeshow is an asset
